Thompson, Anita For many years I concentrated on making pottery, functional domestic ware and decorative raku ware. I exhibited mainly in the North where I was then living, in group exhibitions and occasionally solo or as a guest potter. I have been represented in group exhibitions of Auckland Studio Potters, NZ Craft Council, Winstone Biennale and Fletcher Challenge.When I stopped making pottery, I began learning about painting and shared a studio with Yvonne Rust (a friend and mentor in both pottery and painting). While living in the North I exhibited in invitational group exhibitions. My painting interest is more in contemporary art rather than representational.
