Media used have included pencil, oil pastel and oils, with oils now being her favoured medium.
Recent work has focused on New Zealand flora and landscape and in particular the relationship between the grandeur and isolation of the mountains and bush and human settlement. In recent years the various green belts, coastal and harbour areas in the Wellington region have provided the inspiration for many of her paintings.
Margaret's work is beginning to move away from representational painting towards a more abstract approach.
In the last few years, she has exhibited at the NZ Academy of Fine Arts, Thistle Hall Gallery, Wellington Art Club exhibitions, Van Helden Gallery and at the Kura Gallery in Wellington. Her work is held in a number of private collections in New Zealand, Germany and the U.S.A.
